  1. Tyrrell Hatton, England's top-ranked golfer, carded a six-under par final round of 66 to win the Abu Dhabi Championship by four shots, the first event of the 2021 European PGA Tour.

    Hatton had begun the final round behind Rory McIlroy, but the Ulsterman could only manage a 72 playing alongside the Englishman over the the closing 18 holes, to finish third, five adrift of Hatton. Australia's Jason Scrivener was second.

  2. India retained the Border-Gavaskar cricket trophy after winning the fourth and final Test match against Australia by three wickets in Brisbane.

    With the series level at 1-1 (with one draw), after three epic contests in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, it all came down to the final day at the Gabba with all four results possible.

    Rishabh Pant scored 89 not out to guide the tourists to their target of 328 runs with just three overs to spare. Opener Shubman Gill scored 91.
