  1. Sevilla beat Internazionale in the Europa League final in Cologne, Germany to win the tournament for a record sixth timee.

    Romelu Lukaku gave the side from Milan an early lead with a penalty but Luuk de Jong scored with two headers to put Sevilla into the lead. Inter were level when Diego Godin nodded in to make it 2-2 in the 35th minute.

    Then, on 74 minutes, Diego Carlos' overhead kick, which was going wide, was deflected by Lukaku into the Inter net and the Spanish side held on to claiom their six th success in tjhe event wither under its UEFA Cup or Europa League monicker.

  2. Ronnie O'Sullivan claimed his sixth World Championship with an 18-8 victory over Kyren Wilson at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre.

    O'Sullivan draws level with Ray Reardon and Steve Davis on number world titles, one behind record-holder Stephen Hendry, but surpassed Hendry on the all-time list of ranking event wins with this, his 37 top-level tournament win.

    At the age of 44, O'Sullivan is the oldest champion since Reardon, who was 45 in 1978. He moved to second in the world rankings behind last year's winner Judd Trump.
