Golf - The Heritage

Held throughout its history at the Harbour Town Links on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, USA, the Heritage is one of only five PGA Tour tournaments given invitational status. Its field is made up of 132 players (as opposed to the more regular 156). The tournament initially flitted around the calendar, being played in November (1969–72), September (1973) and March (194-82)  before finding its now traditional April slot in 1983. In 1972, the first two rounds were played on both the Harbour Town Links and the nearby Ocean course, with the final two rounds at Harbour Town.
