Hosts England won rugby's Women's World Cup for a third time with a 33-13 victory over Canada in the final in London, in front of the biggest ever crowd for a female rugby match of 81,885.
The Red Roses extended their world record sequence for a men's or women's national team, to 33 consecutive wins since they lost the World Cup final played in 2022.

Northern Ireland's Mark Allen beat China's Zhou Yuelong 9-8  in the final to win snooker's English Open iin Brentwood, Essex.
Allen led 6-2 and 7-3 before Zhou fought back to win five consecutive frames and lead for the first time.It's Allen's 12th ranking title and first since the Players Championship in February 2024.
