Poland won the United Cup tennis title for the first time with a 2-1 victory over Switzerland in the final in Sydney, Australia.
Belinda Bencic gave the Swiss a 1-0 lead with a 3-6 6-0 6-3 victory over Iga Swiatek in the women's singles match. Poland's Hubert Hurkacz levelled the tie with a 6-3 3-6 6-3 win over Stan Wawrinka but, in the deciding mixed doubles, Polish pair Katarzyna Kawa and Jan Zielinski beat Bencic and Jakub Paul 6-4 6-3.

Australia completed a 4-1 series victory in cricket's Men's Ashes series with a win by five wickets in the fifth and final Test against England in Sydney.
The hosts went into an unassailable 3-0 lead after triumphs in Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide before the tourists were victorious in the fourth match of the series in Melbourne.
