  1. Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain recovered from two sets down, saving three championship points, to beat Italy's Jannik Sinner 4-6 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (10-2) after five hours and 29 minutes in the longest ever Roland Garros men's singles final in Paris.
    The day before, American Coco Gauff won a first Roland Garros singles title of her career, beating Belarus' world number one Aryna Sabalenka 6-7 (5-7) 6-2 6-4.

  2. Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien saddled horses to win both The Derby and The Oaks at Epsom Downs, England.
    Lambourn, ridden by Irish jockey Wayne Lordan, gave O'Brien a record-extending 11th win in The Derby, with Lazy Griff second and Tennessee Stud third, the day after Minnie Hauk, ridden by England's Ryan Moore, had beaten stablemate Whirl to win The Oaks for an 11th win in the fillies' race for O'Brien. He has now won a record-extending 47 British Classic races.
