Basketball - WNBA Championship
The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) Championship began in 1997 with eight teams. with two added in 1998 and two more in 1999 to bring the total up to the current 12 franchises, split into Eastern and Western Conferences with the leading eight teams at the end of the regular season competing in the play-offs, which culminate in a best-of-five series between the finalists.
