  1. Collin Morikawa beat fellow American Justin Thomas in a play-off to win the PGA Tour's Charity Open in Ohio.

    Morikawa, who led for the first two rounds, came from three strokes down with three holes remaining to force the play-off and won on the third extra hole.

    Morikawa, 23, finished on 19 under par for his second US PGA Tour win.

    Meanwhile, Scotland's Marc Warren won a European Tour event for the first time in six years at the Austrian Open.

    The 39-year-old edged out German Marcel Schneider by one shot. Fellow Scots Craig Howie and Connor Syme finished tied fourth.

    Warren's victory is his fourth on the European Tour.

  2. Cieren Fallon, the 21-year-old son of retired six-time champion jockey Kieren, won the July Cup at Newmarket on Oxted for trainer Roger Teal. it was the first Group 1 race win for both jockey and handler - click here to view all the winners of the July Cup in its Group 1 era.

    Frankie Dettori - who needs the July Cup for a full house of top level victories in Britain - was second on Sceptical. The favourite, Golden Horde, finished third.
