Snooker - Thailand Masters

The Thailand Masters, held in Bangkok, was snooker's first major foray into the rapidly growing Asian market when it was held as an invitational event in 1985. After three successful stagings it was overtaken by the new Asian Open ranking tournament, but returned in 1992 before being removed from the schedule for a further six years until it took over the Asian Open slot from 1998 to 2002. Click here for its ranking history within the Asian Open section. Two final ventures were held with just domestic participation and the odd overseas entrant.
