WTA - Brisbane International
Now a key early stop on the WTA tour in the build-up tp the Australian Open, the tournament on the outdoor hard courts at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Brisbane has Premier Event status from 2012. It began in 1997 as the Gold Coast Classic but was renamed the Australian Women's Hardcourts Championship in 1998 before adopting its current guise when it moved to Brisbane in 2009.
