Atletico Madrid won the Spanish football league title, La Liga, on the final day of the season thanks to Uruguay striker Luis Suarez scoring the winning goal against Real Valladolid.

Their 2-1 win meant they edged out Spanish capital rivals Real Madrid to the crown by two points.
