  1. Favourite Ghaiyyath won the first Group 1 contest of the UK flat racing season at Newmarket in fine style.

William Buick's mount led the mile-and-a-half contest from start to finish, with 2019 Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck closing at the finish but not good enough to catch the Charlie Appleby trained five-year-old.

The race was transferred from its usual venue, Epsom Downs, due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

  2. Top jockey Frankie Dettori was in the saddle for the first time this UK flat season as Racing begins to get back in the swing after the enforced two-month break due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Dettori won a race at Kempton Park in London and is due to take part in Group 1 action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Newmarket Guineas festival, which incorporates the Coronation Cup (normally run at Epsom) this year.
