  1. Stradivarius won the Gold Cup for the third year in a row in sensational style.

    Nayef Road set the pace in the marathon distance two-and-a-half mile event, the big race of the Royal meeting at Ascot but Frankie Dettori produced the champion in the home straight on the bridle and unleashed a stunning burst in the final furlong and a half to leave the others look like selling platers.

  2. The 2020 UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Women's Champions League finals will be staged in August.

    The competitions were suspended in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

    All the matches are scheduled to be played behind closed doors, but UEFA has suggested that some spectators may be allowed depending on the evolving helath situation.

    The Champions League final will take place on 23rd August in Lisbon, Portugal. Istanbul, originally appointed to stage the 2020 final, will now host the 2021 final.

    The Europa League climax is set for 21st August in Cologne, Germany with Polish city Gdansk, the original host for the final, now due to stage the conclusion to next season's competition.

    The Women's Champions League final will be in San Sebastian on 30th August.
