Rugby - Women's World Sevens Series Champions
An annual series of Seven-a-side rugby tournaments contested by women's national teams inaugurated in 2012/13. Each of the events on the circuit is contested by the same 12 nations each year (gradually increased from the initial six in 2012/13 to 12 in 2023/24 onwards).
At each tournament, the winner earns 20 points and all the 11 remaining sides are allocated points on a sliding scale down to the loser of the 11th place play-off (one point). The overall winner of the series is the team that earns the most points across all the events. At the end of each annual series, the bottom-placed team is relegated and replaced the following year by the winner of the second-tier Challenger series.
The 2020/21 season was not staged due to travel restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
