Golf - WGC Championship

One of the original four World Golf Championships (WGC) events created in 1999. Up to and including 2006 it was played in October each year, but since 2007 has been moved to March. The 2001 tournament was cancelled due to the September 11 terrorist attacks.An elite field of 70 take part in a stroke play format, there is no halfway "cut".
From 2007-16 it was played at the famous "Blue Monster" course in Doral, Florida. From 2017 the event has been staged at the Club de Golf Chapultepec in Naucalpan, Mexico.apart from in 2021 when the Concession in Tampa, Florida was used.
