Cricket - West Indies Championship

The first class competition in the West Indies is contested by Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad &Tobago, Leeward Islands and Windward Islands. The latter two, who previously competed together as the Combined Islands, are each formed by players from multiple countries and territories.
The current structure is a double round-robin league system with the team earning the most points being declared the winner and awarded the George Headley/Everton Weekes trophy . Twelve points are given for a match win, eight for a tie and there are a variety of points offered for drawn games and bonus points for first innings leads.
On a few occasions teams from other cricket boards around the world have featured as guests and from 2008 to 2014 Combined Campuses and Colleges took part. It was not staged in 2021 due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
