Snooker - Shanghai Masters

The Shanghai Masters, held in China's largest city, was the second ranking tournament to be played annually in Asia when it was created in 2007.
In 2018 it changed to an 24-player Invitational format, involving the current top 16 players on the world rankigs, the next best four players of Chinese origin and the four leading amateur players in the host nation. The venue from 2007 to 2017 was the Grand Stage, before it was moved to the International East Asia Hotel in 2018 & 2019. The venue from 2023 had been the Shanghai Grand Stage.
It was not staged in 2002, 2021 or 2022 due to travel restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
