Snooker - Pot Black

This was the tournament that made snooker into a television sport. An elite field played one-frame matches, which were shown on BBC Television on a weekly basis each year until the congested calendar brought an end to the series in 1986. It returned in 1991 for a three-year run and again in 2005, but has not been staged since 2007.
Venues: 1969-72 BBC Studios, Birmingham, Eng; 1973-91 & 93 Pebble Mill Studios, Birmingham, Eng; 1992 Blackpool, Eng; 2005-06 Royal Automobile Club, London, Eng; 2007 City Hall, Sheffield, Eng
