Olympic Games - Cycling

Men's Cycling has been a constant factor at each Olympic Games. Women's competition did not become part of the programme until the road race at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Women have competed in track events since 1988. Mountain biking was first staged in 1996, followed by BMX in 2008.
The 2012 Summer Olympics is the first at which men and women compete in the same number of events in all cycling disciplines.

The venue used in 2008 for the track, mountain bike and BMX events was Laoshan, Beijing, China.
