Rugby - Nelson Mandela Plate

First played for in 2000, as a one-off match, the trophy named after South Africa's most famous leader was designed to be a biennial contest between the Springboks and Australia. It has been contested since 2006 over a seasonal series of matches. The team without possession must win more matches that year than the holders to regain the trophy.

Before the Nelson Mandela Plate came into existence, South Africa won 28 times, Australia 14 and there were no draws.
