Snooker - Irish Masters (Invitational)

Next to The Masters, this was the most prestigious non-ranking event on the snooker calendar for many seasons. Spawned from the Ireland Tournament held from 1975-77, the Irish Masters pitted an elite field in an atmospheric arena at the Goffs bloodstock centre in County Kildare. It was moved to Dublin for its final two runs as an invitational event in 2001 & 2002.
It was turned into a ranking event in 2003, but was last played in 2005.
