Snooker - International Masters

As Snooker sought ways to create identifiable tournaments, this invitational round-robin format was a fixture on the circuit for five seasons before evolving into the British Open (now World Open) ranking event. It began as the British Gold Cup before sponsorship saw it change to first the Trophy and then the International Masters.
The final staging had the curiosity of a three-man, round-robin climax. It was staged at the Assembly Rooms in Derby, England.
