England's Chris Wakelin won eight frames in a row to beat China's Chang Bingyu 9-2 in the final of snooker's Scottish Open to lift the Stephen Hendry Trophy at Meadowbank in Edinburgh.
It was Wakelin's second ranking event victory after the January 2023 Shoot Out. Chang was ranked No.70 going into the tournament compared to Wakelin's No.17.

Egyptian side Ahly won the Women’s Basketball League Africa championship after beating Angola's Ferroviario de Maputo 75–56 in the final in Cairo.
Raneem Elgedawy was named Most Valuable Player after a 29-point, 18 rebound performance as Ahly secured their first African crown.
