England's Matt Fitzpatrick won the European Tour Championship for a third time in Dubai, UAE after beating Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland in a play-off.
McIlroy had the significant consolation of coming top of the season-long "Race to Dubai" standings for a seventh time and fourth year in succession.
