Spain's Carlos Alcaraz beat Jannik Sinner of Italy 6-2 3-6 6-1 6-4 in the final to regain the US Open men's singles title at Flushing Meadows in New York.
A day earlier, Belarus' world number one Aryna Sabalenka overcame American Amanda Anisimova 6-3 7-6 (7-3) tin the women's singles final to retain the title.
