Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain recovered from two sets down, saving three championship points, to beat Italy's Jannik Sinner 4-6 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (10-2) after five hours and 29 minutes in the longest ever Roland Garros men's singles final in Paris.
The day before, American Coco Gauff won a first Roland Garros singles title of her career, beating Belarus' world number one Aryna Sabalenka 6-7 (5-7) 6-2 6-4.
