Rio de Janeiro-based Botafogo beat Atletico Mineiro from Belo Horizonte 3-1 in an all-Brazilian final to win their first Men's Copa Libertadores football title, despite being reduced to 10 men after just 30 seconds of the match in Buenos Aires, Argentina, when Gregore was sent off.
Gregore was handed his marching orders for a foul on Fausto Vera, who was left with a bleeding head after being on the receiving end of a flying kick.
