English wins after epic play-off

Posted on

Harris English beat fellow American Kramer Hickok on the eighth hole of a play-off to win the River Highlands Championship, his fourth PGA Tour victory, in Cromwell, Connecticut, USA.

The pair finished on 13-under-par and they then went on to par the first seven holes in the play-off. It was the longest PGA Tour play-off in nine years. The longest remains the 11 holes at the 1949 Motor City Open when Cary Middlecoff and Lloyd Mangrum could not be separated and were declared joint champions as it became too dark to continue.
