Horse Racing - Diamond Jubilee Stakes

A Group 1 race over six furlongs (1,200 metres) for horses aged four years or older (or three-year-olds born in the southern hemisphere), this event is staged in June each year at the Royal meeting at Ascot racecourse in Berkshire, England. Inaugurated as the All-Aged Stakes in 1868, when it was also open to all three-year-olds, it was renamed the Cork and Orrery Stakes in 1926. It didn't attain it's current elite status until 2002, when it's title changed again to the Golden Jubilee Stakes to commemorate the 50-year reign of the UK's Queen Elizabeth II. In 2012, the event was given a fourth different monicker, the Diamond Jubilee Stakes, when the Queen reached 60 years on the throne and from 2015 it was given the current age restriction.
