South Africa's Branden Grace became only the second player in European Tour history to win three times in their season after his triumph in the China Open at Bihnai Lake. Grace finished on 21 under-par for a conslusive three-shot victory. Grace joins Swede Johan Edfors (2006) in the record books. In San Antronio, Ben Curtis won a tournament for the first time since 2006 when he claimed the Texas Open. Bubba Watson became the eighth consecutive male player to win a first major, extending a sequence begun by Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell at the 2010 US Open. Watson beat Louis Oosthuizen at the 10th - the second extra hole - after both parred the 18th. Waston's flour straight birdies from the 13th created the tie.
