European champions Inter Milan easily saw off Africa's No.1 side Mazembe at the Zayed Sports City Stadium to become the first Italian side to collect five major trophies in a single calendar year. Goran Pandev and Samuel Eto’o put Inter in the driving seat before substitute Jonathan Biabiany completed the rout five minutes from time.

Rabat came from 2-1 down with 15 minutes to go to seal the Confederations Cup in a frenetic climax in Tunisia. Rachid Rokki and Mohamed Zouidi scored after home side Sfaxien had grasped a lead through Hamdo Rouid and Kamel Zaiem's penalty either side of half-0time. The first leg in Morocco had finished goal-less.

Mazembe of Congo retained the African Champions League title at November 7 Stadium in Rades, Tunisia. Mazembe won the first leg 5-0 two weeks previously, and never looked like conceding that many as Esperance played out the last hour with only 10 men after Aymen Ben Amor was red-carded for slapping a Mazembe player. Esperance scored first thanks to midfielder Harrison Afful's header after 23 minutes, and Mazembe couldn't take advantage of its extra man until the 69th, when Kanda Mukok equalized.

Brazilian side Internacional will represent South America in the World Club Cup in December after securing the Copa Libertadores. Second half goals from Rafael Sobis, Leandro Damiao and Giuliano put th tie out of Giadalajara's reach after Marco Fabian had given the Mexicans the lead. Omar Bravo's stoppage time second was a merely a consolation.
Two goals within four second half minutes from Giuliano and Bolivar had given Internacional a crucial advantage from the first leg in Mexico, with Adolfo Bautista scoring for the hosts at the Jalisco Stadium.

Jose Mourinho became just the third coach in history to win the biggest prize in European club football with two different clubs as Inter ended a 45-year wait to lift the giant silver trophy. Diego Milito scored both the Italian club's goals in the final at the Bernabeu. Mourinho had previously won the tournament with Porto in 2005.

Former Manchester Utd striker Diego Forlan scored twice, the second time in the 27th minute of extra time, to dash mid-ranking English Premier League club Fulham's hopes of a first major trophy. Forlan's first half effort had been equalised by a crisp Simon Davies volley in an absorbing match. Fulham had reached the final after negotiating 18 matches in 10 months on an epic European run that included victories over holders Shakhtar, Italian giants Juventus and German champions Wolfsburg.

Chelsea clinched their third Premier League title with an eight-goal exhibition at Stamford Bridge. They will be joined in the Champions League next season by deposed champions Manchester United and Arsenal, with Spurs hopeful of making it through the qualifiers in August. Manchester City, Aston Villa and Liverpool will compete in the Europa League. Burnley, Hull and Portsmouth had already been confirmed as relegated before the final day.
