Novak Djokovic claimed a second Australian Open title with a straight sets victory over Andy Murray in the Rod Laver Arena. It was the second successive Aussie final defeat for Murray and means that it remains 75 years since a Briton won a men's Grand Slam championship, Fred Perry's win at Wimbledon in 1936. Djokovic had beaten defending champion Roger Federer in the semi-final, while Murray saw off Rafael Nadal's conqueror David Ferrer in their last-four clash. Australian Open history
